I was born in London, to English and Australian parents, and lived nearly all my life in England. But as England becomes a less welcoming place for foreigners, it is less welcoming to me too.

The only immigrant I had a problem with was a former housemate who'd become a British citizen and voted Leave because "the country's full up". I welcome immigration - it's the racists and xenophobes who make me feel alienated.

oh? and what are you? The Royals aren't even English. The Saxe-Coburg and Gotha families are German; all their titles were held under the German crown until in desperation they changed the name to Windsor in 1917 to escape fierce anti-German sentiment.
