I've been in one of these debates for two days now. Posted over 200 comments. Feel free to come and get stuck in. It's me versus the whole shitlib hive mind out there.
-
Debating on Twitter is a losing strategy.
-
Please get involved. They think they're winning because they outnumber me. Get over here or else they'll never know how badly they've been thrashed.

In fact, I challenge anyone to make as many mistakes as economically. It is a platonic ideal of wrongness.
-
I think the interesting thing about this tweet is that the author is self-aware enough to realize that he does, in fact, believe that ra CV ial differences justify discrimination, and is therefore a racist. He must deny racial differences to avoid SEEMING to be racist.
-
One of my standard rants is that if you are not truly racist - that is, you don't believe racial differences justify discrimination - there is no incentive to deny racial differences.
-
Oh sure there is. Others can use my affirmation of racial differences to promote discrimination, even if I don't believe this is justified. Yet others will disbelieve my protestations and think I'm racist anyway. These are two strong incentives.
-
The first is silly; we don't do that for anything else, but people try to make an exception here. It's blatant post-hoc rationalization. Second is legit though

As Wolfgang Pauli wrote of a colleague’s paper: “it is not even wrong.”

Biologically speaking, there is only one race, the human race.. people confuse ethnicity with race Racism is against ethnicity isn't against race, the two terms are used interchangeably but that doesn't make them hold the same meaning

I don't expect much of "pineapple pizza lover" but I'm still impressed by this one.

Care to expand? Race was based on Linnaeus pseudo-science, and blew up after applied to Darwinism. Do you believe race exists?
-
My feeling on this at the moment is that declaring people racist is only legitimising the concept, regardless of whether the accused is attempting to be racist or not. If the radical left don't believe in race, why do they keep invoking it? Prejudiced perhaps.
-
This is like saying dog breeds don't exist. Race follows naturally from evolution. It's simply impossible for gene frequency in a species distributed across continents to become identically fixed at some point.
-
I didn't say that differences do not exist between humans. The issue is the term and biological concept is ill-defined. Humans split and have supposedly evolved separately for 100ks of years, yet no single sign of even sub species development, yet it's meant to be rapid.
-
Good point. Maybe homo sapiens is a kind of spectrum dominance.
-
The latest genetic research is saying human populations split around 350,000 years ago. Until recently that figure was 100,000. Expect it to increase again. That's a long time for divergent populations in different environments.
