Yes we’ve established that Crowder is an asshole, but I still think large platforms like YouTube should follow the First Amendment standard for protection of speech. I think Kyle Kulinski from Secular Talk has a great take on this.

The first amendment protects the people and the press from censorship coming from the government, youtube is a private company. Also suprise but the first amendment doesn't tolerare discrimination or hate speech as one of the exceptions of free speech so he's in the wrong anyway.

Really now? As far as i'm aware hate speech and discrimination are seen as exclusions on freedom of speech because it clashes with other laws. Also really nice Florida wants to pass that bill but youtube is a platform accesible to the entire world, not just Florida.

Ah and this is were we are going to clash. I'd say you're right on one thing, being able to counter politicians is completly fair and i have nothing against freedom of speech used in that regard, the issue here stems that what i see as harrasment you see as simple "hurt feelings"

I'm not speaking of India at the moment. This is about someone using offensive stereotypes and consistently harrasing a gay man to the brink were his family was getting involved, that does not fall under "hurt feelings" anymore, that's just targeted harrasment.

I see, personally i find that the fall under the same catagory because harte speech is almost always paired with harrasment and threats but if the laws says no i can't do anything about that i guess.
