Also. Talking about fluency like it's a bad thing?? Being fluent in a theory alone does not mean one believes in it. The beauty of critical lenses is you can look through them even as they may differ from your own. Regardless of our opinions we all benefit from learning theory.

That said, critical race theory (which I learned in a different college course lol) is VITAL and I am actually happy to hear kids being taught about it early! Especially privileged kids! And ironically, this article whining about it is a real exercise in white fragility.
