    Meanwhile here in Manitoba we’re still waiting to eventually get our provincial Delta modelling…

    America does not have a national health service. If they did, I’ve no doubt they would be tracking the pandemic better than anyone in the world 🌎 They have the resources, the technology and the brilliant minds. They don’t have the data. Such a shame.

    Again, critical differences between unvaccinated vs antivax👇 h/t

    ~75% of the unvaccinated are low-income. They are nearly 3X as likely to be food insecure. Most are parents, and many work jobs where they can’t just take time off for a shot and recovery. But there is so much we could do to reach them if we wanted to:

    Every runny nose, sniffle, sore throat or fever in kids will probably make many of us nervous for a while, which is understandable. Continue pushing for mitigations that will help with Covid but also other IDs in kids - vaccinations, ventilation, etc 7/n

    There are no easy answers that will appease everyone right now. However, for parents it will be stressful as we continue into the unknown of a post-pandemic MB while the Rt’s in surrounding provinces have started to set the alarms off 6/n

    We had to get our nearly 3 year old tested again this weekend (her fourth this past year). Knowing all of the stats regarding Covid severity in kids doesn’t make things easier… 2/n

    updates from and . Test results from Senegal not in yet but some description of case and contacts (including those that fled the area)

    More info on the possible case from - Patient zero is a 46 yo male - Father of 5 - Started having symptoms on August 1st - Reports of 13 constants although some have fled, including the deceased males wife - Sample sent to for confirmation

    Many of us watching this very closely right now and keeping our fingers crossed for a negative

    1. confirms there is a possible case of in Guinea, at Gueckédou — where the 2014-16 West African outbreak was first reported. Samples have been sent to a reference laboratory for confirmation. This would be West Africa's first Marburg outbreak.
