    Today is - last week the UK became the first major economy to announce that it is legislating for net zero emissions by 2050. We’re also bidding to co-host COP26 with Italy. Nothing is more important for the future of our planet than tackling climate change.

    Honour to attend today. read Pres. Roosevelt's moving prayer given before the D-Day landings. The Queen thanked veterans “on behalf of the entire country, indeed the whole free world”. A heartfelt tribute to those that sacrificed everything to ensure our freedom.

    This afternoon and visited Westminster Abbey. The President and First Lady laid at a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior, toured the Abbey and signed our Distinguished Visitors' Book. More on our website:

    Excellent start to the . Day one ended with a spectacular State Banquet, hosted by The Queen, who said “Mr President, as we look to the future, I am confident that our common values and shared interests will continue to unite us”. More to follow tomorrow!
