I live in an area that has the power turned off anytime there is wind (aka multiple times a month). Because they haven't done any maintenance in decades and they can just cut off service to prevent fires instead of fixing anything.

I bought my first Aeron chair at the Arthur Andersen bankruptcy auction (the bankruptcy that happened because they committed fraud on behalf of Enron). I thought about buying one of their big shredders, too, but my dad said, "You don't want one of those, son, they're worn out."
