I've also read about how people with hearing difficulties who would normally lip-read are having trouble and ... yeah. Truly sorry, open to suggestions, but people are dying.

At my ENT they had clear masks, which was nice.

I've generally seen people who have that trauma mention that they take other precautions, like choosing to rely on delivery and minimize going out in public. It tends to be people who DON'T have any of those issues who use their existence as an excuse to go maskless.

The ADA provides for ACCOMMODATIONS. If you cannot wear a mask, for whatever reason, you must get delivery or curbside pick up. You do not get to endanger the public health.
-
Yes. Accommodation is not "you must let me shop without a mask because __"

For some people there's no fast way for working on it. Friend of mine has been in and out of therapy for 7years now. She's been raped twice, both times her mouth was covered by the rapist, she's now struggling with PTSD and other things. A mask triggers heavy (1/2)

(2/2) panick attacks that cause her to faint some times. There's no way she can wear them for more then 10min. It's not that easy to wear a mask for some people. But they are a really small percentage, of course.

People keep waving autistic people like a flag against masks. See also disabled people. Everyone I know in both categories is wearing them, or using the real, available accommodations. Folks can fuck off with their faked concern.

Me, I have some claustrophobia issues related to trauma as well as sensory issues from autism. I avoid going out unless I have to, and have to do breathing exercises to not have a panic attack. But I wear them.
