While I am deeply ashamed of the typo, you can't deny that I'm doing my part to create jobs for copyeditors. (I am not, myself, a copyeditor.)

Kind of crazy how long these things persist in the industry out of habit.

A lot of people are mentioning AP, but most book publishers defer to CMOS and this is a RH manuscript referring to house style. Anyone know where CMOS lies with this currently? Been freelancing for nearly a decade and never worked with a book publisher who lc'd, so this is huge!

Hi Ingrid, my tweet specifically refers to Random House changing its house style to align with AP on this. Can't speak for @ChicagoManual but if the Dempster estate can't be bothered to renew its trademark, perhaps the rest of us shouldn't be blighted with a capital D.
