Ten years ago my house was robbed and I was slut shamed for wearing a ‘behooda’ tshirt over a shalwar. You BEST BELIEVE that to this day I sleep in clothes that a daku would approve of no matter how hot it is and how tempting shorts are to sleep in during the summer😭

If not that, as a Muslim woman she probably expected to have to answer for a country she probably has roots in but isn’t actually a national of because that’s literally what Muslims live on a daily basis; answer for all Muslims, good or bad.

So many questions about why Sarah, a solid 10, chose Shanawaz, a two time divorced human red flag. Without knowing the details all I can say is, have you ever heard how people talk to women past 35? We’re ‘too old’ for single men our age so society tells us to compromise.

The gender switch Snapchat filter is really unfair. The men all turn into gorgeous women and the women all turn into the guys in our Facebook Others folder 😒

My captain rn is a woman. The car smells of sanitizer, there are sequinned throw cushions, she’s polite & just asked me what kind of music I’d like her to play on the stereo. AND she’s actually following the map unlike most other captains 🙌🏼

One of the most intentionally cruel things desi parents say to their daughters is “Shaadi ke baad jo karna hai kar lena” to keep them from living with some degree of freedom. These parents KNOW FULLY WELL that shaadi ke baad, for so many women, is further clipping of wings.

I am not apolitical. I just have enough tact, and respect for relationships in my life to not disrespect anyone over politicians who live in mansions(ALL OF THEM) and who will NEVER EVER know the experiences of the common man. Choose your fighter but know the game is rigged.

Unpopular religious opinion, but as a practicing Muslim & a non-vegetarian, I just can’t reconcile with Bakra Eid. Not the religious context of it, but the excessive, exhibitionist occasion it’s become where you display your status & wealth through what you spent on your janvar.

Dear Lord protect Nimra from Nida Yasir’s toxic and exploitative show. Our media has a tendency to over expose someone as a ‘product’ & try to gentrify the ones who don’t fit a certain standard of visual finesse. We ruined the Chai Vaala. Leave Nimra alone.

I used to be that 😍 Karachiite who would look at the ruin & rubble around Karachi & romanticize it as being ‘rough around the edges but oh Karachi’. Unfortunately the filter is gone & I JUST CANT SEE anything redeemable here. It’s a sad, angry & neglected city & no one cares.

Not gonna get involved in last night’s Nana/Uncle/Rishtedar tea spillage but just wondering why we don’t hold Bhutto lineage to the same shame as Zia ones when it’s literally just about one having better suits & finesse & the other being an easy caricature. Both did SOLID damage.

People whining about Humayun Saeed getting cast in The Crown make it sound like he got his phuppo ka beta to do sifarish for him. This is a big budget Netflix show & he probably wasn’t the first guy they auditioned. The man earned the role whether you like him or not 🤷🏻‍♀️ #NotAFan

Nobody looks at what the woman has achieved. Her education, her accolades or awards. Her personality or looks. They see her age. Staying single is unbearable for society so she’s pushed to compromise. Lower her standards.

Nothing wrong with being divorced or widowed but we all know the context of why he said what he said. Single independent women past 35 have no place here. Society is more comfortable with unhappily married women than happy single women.

Women know. Because their friends and sisters who work 9-5's TELL them. I, as someone who works a 9-5 & also does housework(cuz woman), KNOW that the housework is more backbreaking. But arguing with a man who is convinced it isn't is futile & has consequences for most women.

I’m confused why we can’t just compliment Kate and her outfits(if you like them) without putting down local women and how they choose to dress up. Yes Kate looks lovely in minimal make up & no print but now you want all Pakistani women to make a lesson out of it & dress like her?
