What’s the decision to make? Mutilate or not? Isn’t most modern medicine like “Don’t.”?

I think you're confusing "modern medicine" with "SAH Moms".

I'm big on evidence based decision making and looked into it quite a bit for my kids. My conclusion was NBD either way from a medical stance. It's really culture and personal preference. There's enough guilt tripping in childbearing already.

I fretted over this before my son was born 4 yrs ago. Ultimately landed on circumcision. Almost all other boys he’ll be around growing up are as am I. Really debated it though. I was with him when it happened and he didn’t even realize anything (Daddy was hyperventilating

Circumcision removes the most sensitive parts of the male genitalia: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17378847 By the time your son comes of age this will be common knowledge. Rates are dropping in America, your son may well be the "different" one with his peers. I'm sorry to be the messenger.
