1/3 Today ⁦⁩ and I share the release of A BLACK WOMEN’S HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES. We did not write this book alone thanks to a group of scholars we had a manuscript workshop ⁦⁩ last year so we must begin with gratitude to our sister scholars.

Paying tribute to black activists, scholars, philosophers, writers, artists, and musicians who transformed America’s social order, we present books that celebrate the African American experience.

We live in the most punitive “open” society in the world. ⁦⁩: “When young Americans say in polls that they react more positively to “socialism” than to “capitalism,” it’s because of the hypocrisy of institutions like U.S. Bank.”

Running through the black radical tradition is a no less clear-eyed view of the durability and manipulability of racist division and its capacity to undermine, if not destroy radical/progressive coalitions. The error is to see this as given, rather than a changeable condition.

Don't doubt for minute either, if Bernie wins the nomination, the discourse will flip and it will be about how he is too concerned about black and brown people at the expense of working-class white people. (With a little he's "anti-Semitic" thrown in). And again, don't be fooled.

Addendum:4) Follow step 3. But keep the money. Since I am in no position to tell financially insecure people what to do w/ $300, they can promote another candidate on social media. Post other ideas. Kudos to the president of Virginia Commonwealth for standing up to this.

3/3: 3) Sign up people to attend. They take the money, promote their Dem primary choice. As a 501c3 charitable event, by law, the persons cannot be silenced. Can use money to fund voter reg and get out vote operations.

2/3: These are sched. in other crucial cities in swing states. Organizers should mobilize community members by 1) Promoting awareness and discouraging attendance. 2) Holding demonstrations at events to educate about Trump’s actual record with respect to human and civil rights.

1/3: It goes w/o saying that Reps and cons. Dems would’ve called for Obama’s impeachment in 2012 if anyone in his admin were giving cash away at pseudo campaign rallies. Remember Romney accused him of taking money from “makers” to give to “takers.”
