Electric Zoo was fun, but I had to make up lost work time on those days so I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have. Also, festivals that end before 11pm are not it. Other than that, it's just too damn expensive here.

After every trip I try to evaluate whether or not it was worth it. I ask myself if the money I spent was worth the cost of getting there and the experiences I had. I must say that this trip to New York goes in the "not worth it" pile and I probably won't be back for a while.

What I spent in a week here is probably half or 2/3rds what I spent in a month in Europe last year (Spain, Ireland, & Croatia). I have very good memories of that trip. I caught up with friends, did some cool hikes, went to the beach, and attended a festival that went until 5am.

I worked remotely last summer too, so it wasn't like I was just having fun all day. Pretty sure I only used a few vacation days that whole month. Otherwise, I worked most days just like I do now.

One thing I did then, that I didn't do now, was plan. I spent many hours making lists of things to do, budgeting, finding the perfect hikes, etc. Maybe I should get back into doing that.
