What do you think are the make/break moments?

A huge market correction is inbound as companies have used inflated numbers to make their VC cases. Similar to the real estate boom of the early 2000's. So much happening just under the surface and if you look, you'll see the signs. OWL, LOL, and COD will be the major indicators.

So true. I expect esports as we know it to die in 2019 and a new model to take over in 2020. I expect a lot of companies going under, another round of consolidation. For too long too many companies in esports are losing money. GL to everyone.

The bubble will burst this year. The insane over-evaluation of a certain franchise is going to hurt all of us. VCs are going to start to demand some tangible ROI and brand partners are going to expect serious metrics to justify the cost.. It's not GG but it's a humbling moment.

A generational phenomenon doesn't just "break". Teams and other companies may go bankrupt. Investors may grow wiser. All of this is great news. Better managed companies thrive, whereas worse managed ones fail to remain relevant or die. I'm hoping for this doomsday to come.

Boxing, track, horse racing all were dominant sports at one time. And they didn’t have the risk of new esports being created every year or publishers changing the financial underpinning of an esports ecosystem. All sports , including the big 4 , are at risk if they don’t evolve
