What’s a good movie / tv show that escapes the narrative fallacy? I’d like to watch something showing men evolving inside complex, emergent systems, instead of the usual emphasis on the impact and linear story of a lone hero

The best example I can think of is The Wire, which changed my standards so as to make Game of Thrones and superhero movies unbearable. Deadwood has a little bit of it too.
Hm, True Detective didn’t give me the same sense of non-narrative ecosystem-ic complexity that I got from the others. But I loved it so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
