    1. What's a trend you've spotted recently (one where you're ahead-of-the-curve on spotting it)? 2. What kind of evidence are you noticing that makes you think it's a trend?

this may not be rly new but it seems like more & more people hate themselves. many hate their own race or gender or nationality for perceived shortcomings, or just hate humanity in general, perceiving us as a scourge

evidence: many ppl vocally railing against their own entire race/gender/country on social media, or expressing (even semi-jokingly) that they hope humans go extinct, or saying they don't want humans to colonize space bc we're like a cancer, etc

Fusion energy coming faster than we think? >People paying attention to the two big projects and not enough to smaller projects, all serious names in science are behind big ones, but money is on the small ones. Fusion is seen from a science, not commercial, lense atm.

Not sure I'm following, but is this a case of following the money (esp. what one perceives to be smart money)?

The scarcity of time/attention reaching an inflection point wherein freemium models broadly construed are no longer effective. So many examples across media and tech

In my own wheelhouse, I can tell that the pop-science genre of seeing humans as flawed reasoners (biases, fallacies, heuristics) is about to flip. Same stuff will all still be true, but be framed as rational, adaptive, and manageable when applied in group contexts.

        - 📈political discourse involving 'meaning' at the same level as freedom, equality, etc (JBP etc) - 📈 non-engagement metrics becomes a field (insider knowledge) - 📈 'ritual design' becoming secular and accepted (corp settings, funeral innovation, etc)

"political discourse involving 'meaning'" — it took me a long time to see it, but now that I have, it's hard to un-see. (The jury's still out for me, though, on whether it's destined for the mainstream or will remain a niche concern.)
