Apparently my book with @robinhanson, "The Elephant in the Brain," is now available on Kindle! https://www.amazon.com/Elephant-Brain-Hidden-Motives-Everyday/dp/0190495995 … Hardcover doesn't come out until January. Attached: some things I like about this book (that you might like too).pic.twitter.com/bi4pIRXrpq

Loved it. The elephant can't be unseen once the curtains are pulled back. Interesting that you came to be at peace with religious styles of thinking. Was that a gradual process? I went through something similar in my early 20s and would categorise myself as religious now.

Thanks Jimmy. Wouldn’t exactly say that I’m at peace with religious-style thinking. More that I’ve learned to see (and appreciate) the deeper logic of religion. Still have trouble with the beliefs =/.

I’m curious: As a (quasi) religious person, how did the chapter on religion come across to you?

I had no problems with it, but I'm unlikely the best person to give feedback b/c I was familiar with Triver's work. Many religious people hear evolution and immediately stop the conversation but IMO evolution particularly evo psych can be very religion-friendly (e.g your book!).

Yeah you're probably a special case. Still, we tried to be as respectful and accessible as possible in our treatment of religion (and other topics)
