In theory this should be true. In my experience they’re failing at this. I’ve had to return half of my last dozen purchases. All highly reviewed.

Yeah Fakespot is good. It’s also important to look at the # of reviews, not just average. I’ll take a 4.6 with 5000 reviews over a 4.9 with 50.

I do this and still have issues. I even look just at # of 1 star reviews (hard to fake) and still end up with crap. The amazon killer will source directly from factories, I think.
