I just read Haidt's response to Pinker (https://www.edge.org/conversation/the-false-allure-of-group-selection#jh …). I don't see how groupishness or the hive switch is necessarily evidence of group selection. Coherent group behavior can arise entirely from incentives acting on the individual.
