I find this is untrue here in Tokyo where elites are generally much less interesting than non-elites. They have higher education but they look unhappy, disconnected from reality and conversation with them is boring. Interestingly, the Japanese idolatrize the whole elite cat

While I agree with Eliezer that the Power Elite are smarter than average, there's more to say. I've met some Silicon Valley A-listers (including Eliezer) & attended the WEF in Davos. These folks are as likely to be emotionally vacuous as the rest of us. And that matters too.
