That’s an interesting distinction. Do you suppose it constrains how the two products can be developed?

Because google is providing an active service that's not tied to a person/"place" it can't obviously sabotage it or people switch to bing

People also usually want exactly one thing at a time from a google search, so ads are much more targeted.
