What I look for in ppl I follow: 1. Able to teach me new things 2. High signal:noise ratio 3. Polite & agreeable 4. Original thoughts > RTs

. Actually the ppl there were pretty well-meaning, all considered, which offsets disagreeableness IMO

Some twitter clients (or all?) allow you to see all of a person’s own tweets, without any of their RTs. I use that feature a lot.

I think RTs keep the S:N ratio high. Much "original thought", is not. Better to know a thought is shared than to believe it belongs to you
