Wouldn't you agree they are the gatekeepers right now? I don't think they should be. And I see a collision path with the government.
i guess they technically have the power to gatekeep, but they mostly refrain from using it (to the point where the term doesn’t seem to fit)

French and German anti Nazi propaganda laws require that info be dropped there. US has same for certain inciting violence speech as well.
