perhaps there are things I feel strongly enough about to give a sermon, but I'd always want the audience to test them out for themselves.
I don't think "test these things out for yourselves" is incompatible with preaching, but regardless, I _totally_ understand your hesitation.

Maybe you need one layer more meta for enough certainty, e.g. give a sermon on how sermon listeners should test for themselves
