Hard question. Have trouble ignoring curiosity about areas of known bad taste surrounded by off-limits signs, but that's dif. from ignorance

Not trying to be a wiseass, but I actively try to avoid having or navigating by taste. It's the reason I often butt heads with tasteniks

But then how do you write? Even at the phrase/sentence level, you must be guided by something like taste, no?

Taste is just well-adapted intuition. Good/useful intuition comes from a deep, first-principles kind of understanding and experience

So I imagine most people have best taste in what they spend most time deeply understanding. A hack into developing good taste of new topic..

A1 writing A2 yes, partially. but not in the most optimal configuration yet (if ever possible). Was "pulled" into industry by my early work
