Then you may need a theological revolution. More typically, I think the issue is misapplication, rather than completely wrong intuition.

To keep it honest, I think it needs to stay in touch with human experience. So it can continually be tested or falsified.

Are such intuitions objectively grounded, to be wrong? Seems to depend purely on preferences. Maybe it just gets junked if no one likes it.

Even in the extreme case of pure subjective preference, such preferences still reveal objective truth. This is why we have story archetypes.
