Thought Unfinished Retweeted Thought Unfinished
https://twitter.com/unfinishthought/status/857913958740578304 … I've stopped all straining to try and grasp concepts. 1) it's overrated 2) easier to pick up the book next time.
Thought Unfinished added,
This is critical. T. Galleway explains it beautifully in The Inner Game of Work
I'm intrigued by this, but I confess I don't understand. What's wrong with effort? How else are we to learn difficult concepts?
Galleway coached his tennis students by asking them to observe the stitches on the tennis ball as it flew through the air
This distracted their Self 1 (analytical, critical) so that their Self 2 (intuitive, embodied) could take control and learn naturally
He developed this into a powerful theory of learning: run interference on Self 1 in whatever you're learning, and Self 2 will take over
This is the subtle effect of Prog Summarization: u distract S1 w/ tedious highlighting/summarizing, not even exerting effort to "learn"
And somehow in the background, released from expectations, u absorb concepts even better than before
Well that's really fucking cool
Watch this Kevin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieb1lmm9xHk … It really is amazing.
On a plane about to take off... will watch when I have internet again!
