Their premise is kind of self-defeating: if I can commit to using such app, then I can commit to not engage in activities they protect from.

Freedom lets you set policies that run continuously (e.g., no social or news between 11pm and 11am). I'm finding it really helpful.

I thiiiink so...? Although when the commitment is asymmetric (easy to get into, harder to get out of), it changes the calculus.

Yes…I use Vitamin R to kickstart the mode. It’s easy to forget what y’re supposed to be doing if not in mode. In mode, I don’t need the app.
