I mean, you still have to continuously commit to stick to your precommitment, so I don't see any difference between the two.

Freedom lets you set policies that run continuously (e.g., no social or news between 11pm and 11am). I'm finding it really helpful.

but you're right-precommitment usually makes it easier to stick to something because abandoning it incurs additional self-credibility damage
