I've also built iOS Safari extensions to block Reddit, Hacker News and the Facebook newsfeed. The only one that's still effective is Forest.

Cool. Why did you choose to build a Safari extension, rather than doing something further down the stack (IP filtering, /etc/hosts, etc.)?

On userland iOS, on cellular, it's hard to go deeper on the stack. But also—blocking just the newsfeed is great, and it's the right layer.
