      my biggest hangup is that politics is 98% optics, 2% real value/incentives. and i can't get motivated to do "good" by that ratio :(

      Nice post. I agree with almost all of this — in particular, that apathy is generally unethical because it's a PD defection.

          I don't say we evolved to cooperate. In fact, I say ethics emerged to solve PD at scale where it's NOT possible to cooperate.
