Machine politics involves listening, yes. But the focus is wrong, like saying a good fundraiser is really great at smalltalk.
Would it be more accurate to say that HC is more politically effective "behind the scenes" vs. "in front of the camera"?

Probably, but not sure it is worthwhile saying that when her ability in front of the camera is consistently underrated by many.
