I always considered EQ short for Emotional Intelligence Quotient. Is MQ similarly about MIQ?
In other words, are you looking for a measure of facility with meaning-related things, or a measure of meaning itself?

So a begging-of-your-question: can you actually improve MQ by "intelligencing" it like an argument or an emotional response?

I take "intelligence" as synonymous with "faculty" in this context. Improving takes practice, not necessarily armchair thinking.
