Is America "true" or "false"? Makes no sense. But when we insist on treating religions as empirical propositions, it's almost as silly.

@ckhonson Although what I care about is whether the idea is being protected from evidence/scrutiny. That's the tell-tale sign of a beleef.

@KevinSimler Software example: "Don't touch this old code" actually presents as a beleef, but is likely well-reasoned and good in context. -
@ckhonson But "don't touch" is a command, not a proposition...? FWIW, belief/beleef is a spectrum, not a strict dichotomy.
