idea: put all of my non-mutual follows in a list called "consume" (or w/e) and then unfollow them I'm intrigued by how that might affect my Twitter experience

I’ve been thinking about making an alt under my real name, protected account, following and followed by just a few dozen mutuals (ppl I learn the most from). Kinda like my own private Slack or email list, but with the Twitter interface/norms.

Is Twitter the medium because you like the restricted character length, the notifications, the UX, the automatic threading, the existing social network... or some combination of all the above?

twitter is the perfect midpoint between chatroom and forum. it flexes to be both asynchronous and real-time unfortunately the company that nailed this intersection is... twitter

Jeff: the answer is all of the above. But my favorite thing about Twitter is that there’s no expectation to reply to a tweet, or even to read it. I can say more or less whatever I want here without feeling that I’m imposing on anyone. It’s very freeing.
