idea: put all of my non-mutual follows in a list called "consume" (or w/e) and then unfollow them I'm intrigued by how that might affect my Twitter experience

Is Twitter the medium because you like the restricted character length, the notifications, the UX, the automatic threading, the existing social network... or some combination of all the above?

To me, the twitter interface/norms are the problem. I wish there was a way to make sure that all our communication approximates the mutual best interest.

I’m specifically thinking about the character limit and lossy feed (ppl don’t necessarily read/reply to everything). Both of those together make it easier for me to post on Twitter vs. other forums. The stereotypical antipatterns (e.g. outrage mobs) don’t bother me too much.

That would be a bummer for those of us in the public, but I understand we're not all good apples.

Oh it’s not the quality of the apples (they’ve pretty much all been great IME). It’s just the quantity — I want a room with fewer apples in it :)
