Like, what if you desire to appear 7 ft tall, when you’re only 5 ft? Is that allowed? I’ll go through life thinking you’ll be good at basketball and can reach things on the high shelf, when you actually can’t.
Basically, in my parsing of the question, I don’t see how “it’s a simulation” makes any difference to the scenario. Maybe I’m missing something there....

Ha, maybe we both are! My interpretation was that the act of editing others' perception of you would be indiscriminate and global, so there would be no more risk of targeted tampering than there is in the real world.
