Within the space of people who are insightful, I find I'm more able to learn from people who are kind. But I've always considered that a weakness on my part.... kinda wish I could learn as easily from the prickly folks.

I also find that in order to recognise and acknowledge that someone is insightful, one needs a certain level of openness and kindness themselves. General suspicion and disregarding the charity principle can close the mind to good ideas.
