Hey Twitter power users: have you figured out what makes people follow? I see so many tweets going ultra-viral, from accounts with just a few hundred followers. I would think with many thousands of engagements more of them would convert. So if not engagement, what does work?

It depends on what type of follower you want. Who yawns at Thiel? Or is enraged by Thiel? Or thinks "I must follow"? For me, I admire Thiel (though disagree with him on a huge amount), but knowing someone worked for him is only mildly interesting. But others may differ.
Posting your affiliation with Thiel will definitely intrigue people. But I also think it’ll draw a TON of negative energy your way, and make Twitter a worse experience for you. Use with caution!!

Yeahhh as if Twitter needs any more asymmetric negative energy :P I generally prefer to downplay connections instead of overselling. Just exploring the space of what I see other people doing with their bio.
