Yeah please don’t put me on a pedestal! I’m just a guy (who feels honored when people read and enjoy his work). Re intelligence: I don’t think of myself as smart (esp. compared to other public thinkers).
If there’s anything special I do, it’s simply that I spend a lot of time paying attention to things, mulling them over in my mind (and in writing), and trying very hard not to fool myself.
