Interesting! My feeling on e.g. YouTube is that editing functionality will be used mostly for good (95%+), only occasionally for ill, but that on net the bad will outweigh the good. But could be wrong.

One thing that makes Twitter a special case is the retweet. If B retweets A, then A edits their tweet, the modified tweet reflects on B as well as A. Not sure if there’s an analogous dynamic on Reddit or YouTube

Yeah that’s a bit of a unique situation. You could imagine a notification system for it though: “Your retweet has been modified. Review?”
