is modeling introspection just one sensory system or is that an entire complex of internal senses?

I think that’s what’s meant by “system” in this context. E.g. the touch system comprises pressure, temperature, pain, itching, etc.

What about the sense of orientation?

-
head orientation is provided by the vestibular system, limb orientation by the proprioception system

Introspection is more of an acting/doing and relies heavily on those sensory modalities. Especially hearing and touch. It seems kind of like asking whether we should consider lifting a sensory modality.

I don’t understand. How can we make a claim like “I want to watch TV” without some subsystem responsible for monitoring/perceiving what’s happening in the brain? Why is introspection more of an acting/doing than listening?

Might dissolve the distinction in philosophy between empiricism and rationalism. Is knowledge obtained through physical sensation really in a different category than knowledge obtained through reasoning? I don't think so.
