PSA: The Eric Weinstein who appears on podcasts is almost unrecognizable from @EricRWeinstein on Twitter.

He recently launched his own podcast, The Portal. Ep. 1 was a 3-hour interview with Peter Thiel. Among other things, I loved the extended discussion on political violence. But ep. 2, in which he describes his plans and goals for the podcast, has me unreasonably excited.

If you’re in the market for some new listening material, I heartily recommend it. It’s available as a regular audio podcast (which is how I listen), but also apparently on YouTube:https://twitter.com/EricRWeinstein/status/1152307926180270080?s=20 …

Can you recommend any podcasts with him that you particularly enjoyed?

His appearance on Sam Harris is what initially endeared me. Then I listened to this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TKeMIWVOnbo … and fell in love with the clarity of his thinking. And his interviews with Tim Ferriss, Lex Fridman, and Joe Rogan were all pretty good. You kinda can’t go wrong.

Wow. Missing the point much? Have you considered his Twitter is appropriately empathetic, broad, cogent and incisive, but you're too lazy or afraid to accept that someone with a popular, but low-status view could be that way?

What if
@EricRWeinstein isn't actually unrecognizable from his Twitter feed, you just find verbal discourse more palatable because verbally we all hedge 1000x more from telling the truth to save face and appear gracious. If you like Eric's podcast but not his feed, that's on you. - 3 more replies

Haha I guess we all have different sensitivities? I find him too combative on Twitter. Seems to like picking fights etc. Maybe he gets called out a lot? I dunno. I could also be misreading things.
