My entire life, it's been true that "humans have been to the moon." I always kinda took it for granted.
So it's been a real treat (not to mention a bit of a mindfuck) getting to relive the Apollo 11 mission this past month, in honor of the 50th anniversary.
Some thoughts

match the glory of the moon landing, and I don’t think any such thing exists. Landing a person on Mars? Kinda, maybe. So much progress is incremental, lacking a binary YES WE DID IT moment, such that even if it’s equally or more impressive, it’s harder to celebrate.
