I have a chip on my shoulder about people saying “I feel” about non-emotions.
“I feel scared and angry.”
“I feel attacked.”

“I feel like you are attacking me.”
I can tell by the way I react that I’m overreacting, but I think there’s some there there too.

+1, I often use words like “feel” to *invite* challenges and criticism and alternate POVs, as opposed to sounding like I’m talking about unassailable truths. I wonder if there’s a gendered component to this?

Hmm so now it seems like a few people are saying the same thing and I kind of want to reply to everyone at once but I don’t know what the right way to do that on Twitter is... is there a right way?
