Different ends work for different tasks obviously, mine are mainly used for steak flipping

I have a pair like that too but I don’t really love the springs. The key to avoid splash damage when frying is to be gentle setting things down. I once gave myself a 6 inch long burn on the forearm tossing a burger onto a pan full of seemingly-calm bacon grease.
