I didn't know about the Good News Translation of the Bible until today, but count me a fan. The plain language is so refreshing.

The verse says the the prophets (נביאים - ne-vi-im) would be prophesying (מתנבאים - mit-nab-im); any other translation is wrong.
While receiving prophesy was in some sort of ecstasy (Shmuel 19, 20-24), the word itself is devoid of that meaning; indeed, Moshe had his prophesy without that state of altered consciousness (Shmot 33,11)
