'Prophesying' = 'dancing and shouting'? 
It's fine to suggest that they may have *also* been dancing and shouting, but that's separate from what is implied by 'prophesying'. Why should prophesying be removed? Removing meaning isn't the way to make something more accessible.
i’m also assuming that something is lost with the traditional/high-minded language, and that using plain language rounds it out a bit / captures some meaning present in the original that’s lost in the other versions
