Here’s a weird one for you: I wish I could talk about all that’s wrong with modern/compulsory education. But I have too many feelings and don’t know what to say that hasn’t been said better by others. Instead, a request ⇊

100% this. One of my many dreams plays out like this: 1. Find a bunch of people aligned around this goal who are 0-10 years away from having kids + live nearby 2. Start a child raising book/journal club and build community around that 3.Believe this will lead to good things

ooh, starting early, that sounds good! (but also hard to get people aligned/motivated)

How about - if you are in or willing to be in the Bay Area, and interested in this (small tribe to co-school/revillage with), like this tweet and we can start a DM conversation or FB group or something.

@utotranslucence’s tweet. Wisdom from elders is so undervalued today. I’m actively exploring ways transplants like myself can connect with prior generations. I feel strongly that our generation is missing out on the “metis” of our prior gens regarding community/familyThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I'm not sure about the rest of the country, but in FL where I grew up, this kind of thing was extremely common. Homeschool co-ops, debate groups, misc. ad hoc classes/meetups, etc. note: community leaned pretty religious/conservative which is not for everyone.

If we had a culture that encouraged us to put as much ingenuity and effort into forging this path as we do into startup companies...
