It's... really not clear that TMI could have gone anywhere near what Chernobyl did, nevermind what Chernobyl _could_ have done. Lower void coefficient, stronger (and not-flammable) containment buildings, there genuinely were a ton of changes.
Thanks for filling in some details. Is it your impression that something like Chernobyl couldn’t happen in the US (because overall the US is more careful)?
I think he mentions in the podcast that the Spartacus like scene was fictional. I think it was a narrative choice like that of making the fictional character of Khomyuk instead of a bunch of scientists who would not get screen time
Yeah good point. I really liked the podcast and was glad they tried to explain which things were real vs. composite vs. fabrications. I wish they did more! But at least it set the stage for future creators :)
